Planner Inserts: The Digital Pages I Never Knew I Needed

I thought going digital would simplify things.
One planner. One tablet. One app.
No more bins of half-used stickers or the drawer I never open because it’s overflowing with washi tape. (Sticker organization, anyone?)
But nope.
Turns out, digital planning is just as addictive—maybe worse. Because now, I don’t even have to wait for Amazon Prime. And I am obsessed with making new ones with fun clipart.
I’m talking about planner inserts.
Little add-ons. Extra pages. Week at a glance with style. Bonus bits of organization magic. They’re like the bonus fries at the bottom of the bag… except prettier and way more functional.
What Are Planner Inserts Anyway?
If your digital planner is the main dish, planner inserts are the sides that make the meal.
Habit trackers. Meal planners. Daily breakdowns. Weekly breakdowns. Budget sheets. Even those little mood widgets with the faces? Insert.
You don’t have to commit to a whole new planner. You just pop in what you need, when you need it.
It’s modular. Like planner LEGO.
The Stickers. The Widgets. The Madness.
Let’s be honest. I didn’t need 42 watercolor laundry day stickers.
But I used them.
On the same day.
On three different pages.
Stickers in a digital planner are like the washi tape of the iPad world. No limits. No guilt. And if you mess it up? Tap. Undo. Pure perfection.
And widgets?
Oh. My. Gosh.
Think of them like mini apps that live inside your planner. Need a mini calendar? A step tracker? A mood tracker that looks like a slice of pie? There’s a widget for that. (think fun shaped design with information to use somewhere on your page).
Why You’ll Be Obsessed (If You Aren’t Already)
- Zero mess. Add, delete, rearrange. All with your finger or stylus.
- Instant downloads. No shipping. No waiting. No trying to remember where you put that dang printable.
- Total control. Your planner becomes whatever you want it to be—this week it’s a fitness tracker, next week it’s your meal-prep headquarters.
- Creative outlet. Stickers and inserts turn planning into play. It’s art with purpose. Joy with structure.
My Go-To Inserts (aka My Digital Ride-or-Dies)
- Weekly Overview Layouts (I may have found my Happy Planner dashboard style replacement)
- Brain Dump Pages (with lined and blank versions—depends on the chaos level)
- Widget Panel with weather, step count, water intake, and my “Did You Take a Break?” tracker
- Sticker packs themed by season… and mood. Because some days you need sunflowers, and some days you need skulls. That’s just how it is.
Final Thoughts (and a Tiny Warning)
Planner inserts are gateway stationery.
Once you start, it’s really hard to stop.
I’m pretty sure my entire yearly planner is just going to be made up of inserts. And I’m okay with that.
But if you’re going digital, you might as well lean in.
Get the inserts. Collect the widgets. Download the sticker packs.
Your planner isn’t just for productivity anymore—it’s your portable creative studio.
And the best part? You don’t need a bigger drawer to store them.
P.S. I’m obsessed with making these. Leave a comment below of a theme you would love to see…I’m happy to get busy designing.
